DOES WCPS PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCES for HIGH SPEED INTERNET FOR STUDENTS?
WCPS does not provide financial assistance for High Speed Internet access. We previously referred families to the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP),a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the High Speed Broadband internet they need for work, school, healthcare and more. However, this program has ended as of February 7, 2024.
GRADUATING OR TRANSFERRING OUT OF COUNTRY: HOW TO KEEP YOUR STUDENT GOOGLE FILES?
All seniors who are graduating, or student's leaving the county, will need to transfer any of their student Google files that they wish to keep to another personal account prior to their departure date from the county. All students have access to a free file transfer tool, Google Takeout, to transfer any Google files they wish to keep to their personal Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box account.

Will students be given WCPS-issued laptops and do they bring them to school each day?
All students will have access to a WCPS-issued Chromebook and must bring them fully charged to school daily.
Is there a cost to use WCPS-issued Chromebooks?
There is no cost for students to receive and/or use WCPS Chromebooks. However, charges may be assessed for WCPS-issued Chromebooks that are damaged or lost/stolen while in a student’s care and/or as the result of neglect on the part of the student. See Repair / Replacement Process for more details.
What if an WCPS-issued Chromebook is damaged?
Should an WCPS Chromebook become damaged, students/parents should contact their school administrator. See Repair / Replacement Process for more details.
What if an WCPS-issued device is lost or stolen?
If a device should be lost or stolen, families should report the incident to their student’s school as soon as possible, and be ready to include details such as date and time of incident, last known location of the device, and a copy of a police report, if applicable. How can I receive support for technology or related issues?
A variety of common self-help resources can be found on this website. If you or your child has any questions on how to use the Chromebook to access instruction or is having technical issues, please email your child’s teacher, Library Media Specialist (LMS), or school administrator.
