DOES WCPS PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCES for HIGH SPEED INTERNET FOR STUDENTS?
WCPS does not provide financial assistance for High Speed Internet access. We are referring families to the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) which is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the High Speed Broadband internet they need for work, school, healthcare and more.

The Affordable Connectivity Program stopped accepting new applications and enrollments on February 7, 2024. The last fully funded month of the program is April 2024. For more information regarding the wind down process of this program, please click HERE.

CAN I ADD MY CHILD’S SCHOOL-ISSUED GOOGLE ACCOUNT TO OUR PERSONAL CHROMEBOOK?
Parents/guardians who allow their children to access a personal Chromebook with a supervised Family Link Account can add your child’s school-issued Google Account directly to your Chromebook by completing the following steps:
- Sign out of the child’s supervised Family Link Account.
- You will see the Chromebook sign in screen.
- On the bottom left, click “Add person”.
- On the parent’s phone, open up the Family Link app, go to the menu (in the upper left corner of the screen) and click “Parent access code.” Alternatively, go to families.google.com on a web browser, sign in with the parent’s Gmail account, open the menu (in the upper left corner of the screen), click on “Parent access code.”
- Type in the parent access code on the Chromebook sign in screen
- Sign in to the school-issued Google Account using the student’s school email address and password.

GRADUATING OR TRANSFERRING OUT OF COUNTRY: HOW TO KEEP YOUR Student GOOGLE FILES?
All seniors who are graduating, or student's leaving the county, will need to transfer any of their student Google files that they wish to keep to another personal account by June 17th 2024 or prior to their departure date from the county. All students have access to a free file transfer tool, Google Takeout, to transfer any Google files they wish to keep to their personal Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box account.
